Asti Architetti has converted the existing building at 6 Via De Cristoforis - consisting of two units and arranged in an 'L' shape - into a contemporary, high-performance hotel that is scheduled to open in April. The project has put great emphasis on collective spaces and also focused on the redesign of the adjacent inner garden in line with a modern hospitality concept. Asti Architetti's redevelopment project also involved the portion of the block facing Viale Monte Grappa 20.
The renovation project by ASTI ARCHITETTI – which has converted with an international flair the previous building into the Milano Verticale | UNA Esperienze 4*S hotel, set between Via De Cristoforis and Via Rosales – is located in the Porta Nuova – Garibaldi – Corso Como area, a genuine “new core” of Milan’s urban renewal.
The pre-existing building was completely renovated by Asti Architetti in a complex operation of “urban repairing” that has led to the redevelopment of the entire block: Asti Architetti had already renovated the residential building in viale Monte Grappa 20 in 2017.
“This project has involved a twelve-storey tower and a four-storey strip building extending for fifty metres in length: this intervention gave a new rhythm to the façades and allowed an accurate refurbishment of the interiors. It has been conceived in such a way as to be completely permeable between interiors and exteriors: in fact, the external square has been redesigned, and the inner garden of over 1000 square metres restores the relationship between the façades and exteriors, by ensuring continuity of green space between public and private areas”, Paolo Asti has underlined.
The interior design, interior decoration, landscape and greenery project entrusted to VUDAFIERI-SAVERINO PARTNERS has helped overcome the traditional concept of “hotel” by creating a space that is at the same time an urban hotel, a food & beverage destination, a meeting place for work, and a hub of groundbreaking services.
The hotel consists of 173 rooms on 12 floors, a 530-square-metre rooftop on the 13th floor and four Penthouse Suites: four exclusive penthouse suites with huge panoramic terraces.
