As part of MILANO ARCHWEEK 2024, an international study day curated by Damiano Iacobone and Alessandra Coppa will be held in the AGORA’ space of the TRIENNALE on May 22, 2024, dedicated to a reflection on the methodological approach on the renovation of Milan “skyscrapers”, including the VELASCA TOWER. Recent urban, social and economic dynamics have seen an acceleration of interest in renovation of Milan’s tall buildings, which redesigned the face of the city between the 1950s and 1970s. Among these, the case of the Torre Velasca by BBPR emerges, which represents an indissoluble and integral part of the urban skyline and which expresses a “modernity” sought in the wake of history, and in particular in the “pre-existing environmental elements”.
